The focus on success is treated as one of the central themes of the movie.
Lincoln (2013)
Abraham Lincoln, responsible for the abolition of slavery in the United States, was pictured in the movie as an example of leadership, determination and involved in power issues in each state. The movie is set during the American Civil War and shows the battles Lincoln struggled with to approve an amendment to the Constitution of the country that ended slavery.
Mandela : Long Walk to Freedom (2014)
From the perspective of the famous South-African leader, the movie tells the story of Nelson Mandela’s childhood up untill his ascension in politics, as president of South Africa. The movie also shows the imprisonment of the African leader that lasted 27 years, result of his search to end apartheid in the country. The script is inspired in the protagonist’s autobiography.
Selma (2015)
The biopic of Martin Luther King Jr., social activist and protestant pastor, follows the struggles and history of the march made by him and demonstrators in 1965, that went from the city of Selma, in the countryside of Alabama, and followed to the capital Montgomery. The protagonist desired equal voting rights to the black community in the United States. The movie is a lesson in persistency.
