The specializations are offered in the modality of Distance Education in Agribusiness.
We selected a few important questions about the courses so you can better understand how the MBAs USP/Esalq work.
Duration
Classes have a duration of 18 months.
Classes
The MBAs USP/Esalq have live classes once a week. When the live classes end, the editing process of the content starts so that, in 24 hours, it is available in the calendar of the academic system for those who weren’t able to watch it live or want to rewatch.
All classes are available for access at any moment up until the end of the course (final paper delivery) and are equipped with subtitles, materials and tests in English and Spanish for international students.
Tests
Just like the live classes, tests are also weekly and online. After the live class, the evaluation referring to that content will be available in the Student Area in up to 24 hours after the end of the class. The exception is for classes given on Fridays and Saturdays. In these cases, test will be made available on Tuesdays.
Tests will be available for 21 days and students have the opportunity to make three attempts, the highest grade being the one considered. The final average of the test for approval in the course is 7.
Payment
The monthly fee payment of the MBA USP/Esalq is made via credit card in up to 18 payments, recurrenly. This means that the payments will be charged monthly from your bank bills, in a programmed way, without interfering in your total card limit.
Frequency register
The course frequency is also important for the conclusion of the MBA USP/Esalq. It is necessary to have 75% of attendance for approval in the course. However, the frequency calculus is made from the tests completion. This means that students that are not able to follow up the live classes and watch them later will not be marked absent.
Faculty body
The MBA USP/Esalq classes are administered by renowned USP professors and members of the private sector.
Interaction
The objective of the MBA USP/Esalq is to transmit knowledge in the most educational and interactive way. Therefore, the live classes have a chat resource for interaction in real time between professors and students.
It is also possible to Interact in a student exclusive social network, the My Class. The platform is a space dedicated to networking and access to important information about the course.
Face to face activities
The MBA USP/Esalq courses are completely online. Up until December 2019, the exceptions were the last test and the final paper presentation, that were made in person at the end of the SIM program, a big event in Piracicaba, a city in the country side of the state of São Paulo.
However, due to the global instability caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, SIM will have its first totally online edition in 2020 and its in person activities will happen in virtual format.
SIM has always stood out as a great opportunity to follow up on lectures and network with colleagues and professors of the course. Therefore, the event adapts itself to the current health recommendations in each period, remaining online for as long as necessary.
Final Paper
One of the most feared stages for students, it is not a seven headed monster. The final paper is a mandatory requirement for conclusion of the MBA USP/Esalq courses and it is a synthesis of the theory taught in class and its practical application.
All students are oriented in the elaboration of their work. This includes classes about research method, fundaments, amongst other themes. A team dedicated only to final papers will also be available to help students, as well as the mentor of each work.
The final paper presentation is one of the activities made during SIM. But don’t worry, soon you’ll have access to a lot of content about the final paper and all informations about the next SIM editions.
